I know my updates are far and few between lately, but life in the North West has been busy!

Last weekend I went to Portland with Mike and his sisters and all their boyfriends and friends for Mikes 21st birthday celebration. It was a really fun weekend- our hotel had a 24 hour indoor heated pool which we definitely took advantage of! Portland was really cool, lots of old architecture and beautiful buildings. We hit up the city every night and we all had lots of fun. It was a great break away from work and school here in Seattle.

School is going well, except I really do not like my Biology teacher. Oh well though, so far grades are good and it's half way through the quarter now- so I only have 1 more month until Spring Break and then it's off to good ol' PA!

I've been working a lot of closing shifts at work lately, but I just got another raise so at least the money should start rolling in!

Saturday is Valentines Day- not sure yet what Mike and I plan on doing, something simple probably. Mom just informed me that it is also "Beagle My Valentine" day, so yet another chance for all the Beagles in the Seattle area to get together and mingle, maybe meet themselves a Valentine... although I'm pretty sure Trixie has dibs on Zac already and won't hesitate in letting any other sniffing Beagles know what's up.

Until next time. Over and out.

Busy Busy Busy

I haven't written in awhile, I've been so busy with the holidays and school starting!
I'm taking Spanish 2, Math 107 (Statistics), and Biology 160. Spanish is my easiest class so far. I hate my Biology teacher and I'm not good at Bio at all, we had a quiz today that I studied really hard for, I got a 4/5 which I will gladly take!

New Years was so much fun, I went to Mikes (yeah, he's new...) and we had a party there with a Twister Tournament which I took 2nd place in. I've been working a lot lately and my homework load is unbelieveable for the 2nd week so I have definitely been busy!

I'll check in again when I have some new things going on!

The results are in!

Grades for this quarter:
Lit of American Culture- 3.5
Interculture Communications- 3.5
Spanish 1- 3.6
Quarterly GPA- 3.53

Which puts me on the Deans List! :o)

I'm sick, again. Woo hoo!! Looking back on it, it seems like it ended really quick.. but boy am I ready for month off of school! I've been working really hard this quarter so I am definitely anticipating my break. Next quarter should be pretty difficult with the classes I'm taking... Bio Lab... I haven't taken biology since the 9th grade. Good thing I have a mom who just took lots of biology classes and a sister that speaks Spanish so I have 2 built in tutors at home!

I don't have any finals this quarter (I am exempt from the final in Spanish since I got good grades on my first 2 tests) so all I have to do is finish my English essay which is pretty close to being done, but definitely taking me longer than the other essays I had.

Thanksgiving was good, very fun. I ate waaaay too much, I was up till 3:30 in the morning sick to my stomach! That didn't stop me from eating a 2nd Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday though! I think Steve enjoyed himself, he played Rock Band for a little while with us.

I plan on spending my Christmas break in my PJ's and at work. I'm taking it easy and catching up on a lot of TV, haha.

Mom bought Kelsey and me our plane tickets to go back to PA over Spring Break! Yay! So excited to visit home. Lauren said she would pick us up from the airport in case anyone was wondering if they were going to have to get us, although we are flying into HBG so it's better than Baltimore or Philly.

New poll. I still can't believe Obama is our president. I'm so excited (for the first time ever) to see what he does first and how our country is going to change while he's in office!

So when it rains here, it's like walking on ice at my school. I was walking down the stairs on Friday after class, getting ready to head to the doctor to be checked for bronchitus (sp?). Well, I slipped.. and I didn't fall down the stairs, I kinda just went up and then right back down again onto my back in the middle of the stairwell. Thank god there weren't a lot of people around- just one guy who asked "OH MY GOD, ARE YOU OKAY?! THAT LOOKED LIKE IT HURT!" I said, "Yeah, it's really slippy there!" and took myself towards the bathroom right away. I got really dizzy and nauseaus (sp?) and my ears started ringing really loud. I thought I broke my back! Good thing I was headed to the doctor. (By the way, I have the greatest doctor ever). After some x-rays he said he couldn't tell if there was a small crack or a weird shadow so I might have a small fracture and to keep it wrapped in a soft cast for about a week and it should be okay. My back hurts worse though, it's really bruised and cut up and hurts really bad when I bend over at all. I didn't have to go to work on Friday, because my doctor wrote me a note, and Saturday I wasn't very helpful so they let me go after 2 hours. We'll see how tonight goes!

I have a new boyfriend. His name is Steve and he will be 25 on November 17 (also Isaac Hansons birthday, hahaha). He has an AA degree from my school and will be starting UW Bothell in the next quarter or 2 to work on becoming a History teacher. He's a really nice, responsible, mature guy. Big step up. Oh, and he has the cutest pit bull ever named Chica. Steve is going to come to Thanksgiving here at our house this year... we just had a Halloween party last month as you probably read in Beaglehaus.

School is going really well, but I'm ready for this quarter to be over... only about 3-4 more weeks. I got a 94% on my first English essay! It was a personal narrative so it was pretty easy. I have another one due on Friday, it's an analysis of "The Woman Warrior" by Maxine Hong Kingston. Spanish test on Friday as well... if I get above a 75% (which I'm sure I will) I get to skip the final, which is super cool. I have an appointment with my advisor for this Thursday to figure out my classes for next quarter... I was thinking of adding another one and taking 4 classes instead of 3... we'll have to see how it goes.

Love and miss everyone! New poll!

Just a couple things...

Only 10 people showed up to my walk. Now, we have to write a personal narrative essay on any experience that we have had with dealing with any of those things.
This class is really wearing me out. I'm really tired of the material, even though the bulk of it is very interesting and leads to great class discussions, but it is pretty much the same thing over and over told in different ways by different people. I really did not enjoy the lecture we went to the other day by a black professor from Baltimore who, during the speech, I thought was a great speaker and had great things to say and it was interesting to listen to, but after I got home and started talking to Mom and some of my friends about the stuff he said, I really didn't agree with almost anything he talked about. I brought it up in our seminar the next day, and only 1 or 2 other students agreed with me.. and they are both from the East Coast.
This professor said to us that "all white people think that the black folk are gonna rise up one day and take over the country and kill all the white folk" and that we have "nothing to worry about, they aren't scheming to kill us all". I have NEVER in my life thought that or felt that way. Then he said "they tell us to 'remember the Alamo', and we have Memorial Day and Veterans Day, but when slavery is brought up we are all told to 'get over it' and 'forget about it'"...... We have Black History Month and MLK Jr Day, which he didn't mention. He made me feel very guilty as a white American that I personally should feel responsible for the mistakes that my ancestors made. He said it doesn't even matter if your family didn't arrive in America until they came to Ellis Island, we are American citizens now and because of that, we should take responsibilites for the history of our country.

So, with that, there's a new poll.

I'm off to finish reading "White Like Me" by Tim Wise.

Quick Update

Hey everyone! Sorry I haven't posted in a few weeks, I have been BUUUUUSY!

So firstly, school. I'm taking Spanish 110 and a Coordinated Studies class which is Women's Studies and English 256. I think I'm doing really well so far, but it is a LOT of work! I have a lot of books to read for my Coordinated Studies class (it's 3 hours every Mon, Wed, and Fri) and I get a lot of homework every night in Spanish (which I have every morning at 9am) but it's good because it keeps it fresh in my mind and keeps my practicing... I also go to an hour long "conversation", which is basically tutoring, every Thursday for extra practice, and extra credit points. It's only the 3rd week of school and I have already had to read 2 books for Coordinated Studies, including "Pedagogy of the Oppressed" which is a very difficult read, but very interesting material so it was... well... kinda fun. ;o)

I'm still working 5 days a week like I was this summer, so that is sort of wearing me out but I'm loving my paychecks... even though this week it seemed to go way too fast and I still have another week before I get paid again. Next week I should (hopefully) begin my supervisor training and get my raise to $10/hr... which will be lovely for my pocket. My work is very understanding and leniant (sp?) though, and they know I'm a full time student so I usually get off early if we aren't busy, or I can study at work.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is going good, I just saw Jaelen on Sunday... we went to McDonalds for lunch. 2 weeks ago I took her to Greenlake to ride the paddleboats (which is harder than it looks) and we had pizza and ice cream. She said she likes hanging out with me. She's really funny too, she always has something to say and is continuously cracking me up at her 7 year old mind and the way it works.

October 17th is my "Take the Walk" walk. I don't know how many people will actually show up but I have been hanging flyers, making t-shirts, and spreading the word. I will let everyone know how the outcome was after it's over.

Other than that, everything is good... I'm pretty much balancing all my responsibilities really well and being able to find time on the weekends to go out with friends and take a break from all the hardwork so... so far so good!

Miss everyone!

P.S.
Nanny- you have to invite me to read your blog- if you need my e-mail it's wyld3cg@hotmail.com

Like, OMG I totally met Taylor Hanson!

So this weekend was crazy filled with concerts!

Saturday, 9.6.08 was Backstreet Boys at Marymoore Park in Seattle. There's only 4 boys left in the group, so it was weird to not see Kevin there (sorry Mom). It was a great show, Kelsey and my friend Gaia from school came. They played for a long time and we met Aaron Carter and got his autograph... we didn't know what exactly he was doing there on tour with the BSB, but we figured since his career is pretty much dead, he really has nothing else better to do with his time then follow his older brother Nick's success.

Sunday, 9.7.08 was Hanson in Portland, OR. We got there around 10am, and met some really cool girls. It was nice to meet Hanson fans from the West Coast. We were about 25th in line, which was pretty good. The walk started at 2:45... for those of you who aren't familiar with what the walk is, and the cause we walk for, I encourage you to check out TakeTheWalk.net and see how you might be able to help out. Soon, it was 5:00 and time for me to get with the other fans who had Meet and Greet passes, and we met up in front of the Aladdin venue and went backstage in 2 groups. I was in the second group, which was cool because our time with Hanson was a little bit longer then the first groups. First, we all shook hands and introduced ourselves to the guys- I was super nervous. I gave Zac my drumstick to sign and he said it looked like one of his, which it was. I told him he gave it to me in Atlantic City, NC last year. He said it was difficult to sign circular objects, I told him I thought it would be hard and I was sorry, but I thought it would be a good thing to have. He laughed and I moved on to Isaac. He signed my drumstick and I asked him how his health is now (he suffered from a pulmonary embolism but had surgery and had it taken care of). I told him that I lost my father to a pulmonary embolism, he gave his regards and asked if I knew if it was in his arms or legs, I told him I thought his arms, and he told me he has heard lots of stories about death caused suddenly by pulmonary embolisms and is glad that he caught his before it was worse. Then, finally, it was time for Taylor. He signed my drumstick, and asked why I only had 1 stick and if I played drums. I told him no, that it was Zac's. I had a stick on tattoo on my wrist of a strawberry and he said it was cool and asked if it was real. I laughed and said no, but that I had a Hanson tattoo, he asked to see it, and I showed him the one on my hip that says "The Music Lives". I was super embarrassed right away and wish I would have shown him the Beatles one on my neck instead, because he is a huge Beatles fan. But, he said it was really nice and it was cool. I told him that I just moved here from the East Coast so it was cool that the year I moved out here is the first year they toured out here in 5 years. He said they were following me and laughed. I told him thank you for his music, and that it is really amazing to me and that I have been a fan since the beginning. He thanked me for being a fan and said they couldn't do it without us. Then, I got into the show early so I could have front row.
Kelsey managed to make it up right behind me when she got into the venue and these girls beside us were causing problems and pushing so hard, but I wasn't giving up my spot or letting them ruin my time!!

Monday, 9.8.08 was Hanson in Seattle. Kelsey skipped last period so that we could make it downtown in time for the walk, which was much more then a mile because they couldn't find an open area to stop to give their speech. By the way, walking in Seattle sucks- there's so many hills. Being on the Washington Street Team, I handed out flyers to the people of Seattle who were around during the walk and Taylor asked for one of us to be responsible to organize our own walk, which we already have plans to do. The show was seated, and we had 2nd row- it was a good time, not as crazy as Portland.

250 people walked in Portland, and 159 in Seattle. The boys give a dollar for each person in each city to go towards 1 of 5 different causes (digging a fresh water well, education, food, shoes, and Aids research), and they are trying to have enough people walk to equal enough miles put together to walk around the world. Again, the website I gave gives more information.

I am uploading photos to my shutterfly account as I type this, but there's a lot so it's going to take a little while and I have to get to work, so I will post again later with the address so that everyone can go check out my AMAZING pictures!!

Let's Walk!

EDIT:::: I added a link on the left that says My Photo Website. You can find all my pictures there!

News from Africa

Okay, so if you don't know already, my ultimate goal in studying Sociology is to earn my degree and be able to join the Peace Corps and travel to Africa to help the citizens, especially the children, learn the dangers of AIDS and educate them on how to take care of themselves and their health and take care of their siblings. I was reading these 2 articles today about some of the recent events in Africa, and they aren't foolin' around over there.

The first one is about the rebels in the Congo, who recently had one of the worst battles on Thursday in the village of Matebe, which is where Ishameal Beah is origionally from. If you haven't heard of Ishamael Beah I highly recommend reading his novel called "A Long Way Gone" (I had to read it last year in English and it's an amazing story).

The second article is about a US Aid plane crashing in the Congo with 17 humanitarian aids on it. I know something like this could happen anywhere, but the fact that it was carrying Americans who were trying to help the other people in this world made it that much more sad.

Anyway, I still want to join the Peace Corps, but this is some serious stuff, and scary... just because there are Americans in Africa who are trying to help and not fight, doesn't mean they are out of the line of danger. It makes me want to help even more, but it also opens up the eyes to the realism of it all.

New poll.

Hanson in 2 days. :)

Now to watch some more of "The Office" before bed. They brought us sand, (that's my new thing), fleece's, necklaces carved out of bone, we aren't sure what kind of bone... boxes for our sand, and the warmest slippers made out of sheep wool you will ever find.

Kelsey and I had a good time while they were away, we had 2 slumber parties with her friends, and watches Seasons 1 and 2 of Veronica Mars, and started Season 1 of Prison Break.... Season 3 starts today so I think I can say that I will not have time to finish catching up on that show.

Fall is officially here in Seattle and the weather outside proves it. It's starting to get chilly and windy and more rain then we had over the summer... all the Fall Season Premieres are soon, starting today, including One Tree Hill, so we are all very excited for our favorite shows to come back.

Kelsey goes back to school as a Junior tomorrow! It's only Rough Rider day, so they only have to go get their picture taken and sign up for yearbooks and stuff... I don't have school until September 22nd, but I think I'm ready to go back.

Today is Labor Day, no crazy plans for us... a friend of mine was supposed to be having a pig roast pot luck so I might go to that if they ever call me, if not, I'm happy hanging out here at home with the family.

Hanson this upcoming weekend, WOOO HOOO!!!!

New poll on the left hand side.... although no one ever votes, or reads, or comments lol

O-M-G!!!

Guess who got a MEET AND GREET pass to go backstage at the Hanson concert!!!

MEEEEE!!!!!

Yippee!! Because I'm a member on hanson.net, I was chosen at random, along with about 10-15 other girls, to be given a Meet & Greet pass, which allows me backstage to meet the guys before the concert in Portland. The only downfall is, Kelsey can't go... the pass only allows me to go to the Meet & Greet, so that kinda sucks, but she's taking it like a champ and is excited that I got one. I've met them before, but never a planned meeting, so this time I am super nervous as what to say... I don't want to act like a crazy fan! I want to be cool, calm, and collected. Ha. I'm taking the drumstick that Zac gave to me during the show at the HOB in Atlantic City to have them all autograph it, which would be really cool. I'm not allowed to take my camera backstage though, no individual pictures- they will take a group photo with all the other M&G'ers that will be available on hanson.net. So, very cool!!! I am very excited as I'm sure you all can guess!!

Tomorrow Kelsey and I will venture up to Saint Helens, OR to see Jack Johnson. It's about a 3 hour trip and it's an outside concert, so we are hoping it is nice and sunny and there will be no rain. I'm very ready for September to start, it's a very busy month with 3 concerts in a row, fall quarter starts, etc.

Mom and Kelsey just got home from Pennsylvania a few days ago, and on Friday Mom and Jason leave to visit Jonathan in New Zeland so Kelsey and I will be here on our own while they are gone, taking care of our flea infested beagles!

Well I'm off to watch Season 2 of Heroes, so I'll be ready when Season 3 starts next month!

Oh yeah!!! I auditioned for a new MTV reality show called "The Phone". It's somewhat like the Amazing Race, call backs should be sometime this week, so I will definitely let everyone know what happens! How cool would that be?!

....and who voted that Isaac was the hottest Hanson brother? ::cough mom cough::

Updates!

I met Jaelen and her family last weekend. I'm planning on picking her up on Saturday for a trip to the park and some french fries at McDonalds.

I finished the last week of summer quarter today. Monday I have a review and my final is on Tuesday, then I finally have my break before fall quarter begins in September.

We got a new manager at work and they fired almost our whole staff... I was worried to go in last weekend but I ended up getting a raise, hah. I'm a pizza maker extravagent!

Mom and Kelsey head to Pennsylvania in a couple days and I'm very jealous that I am not going along... especially since Uncle Kirk and Aunt Kristen and the kids will be there too. :( After they get back, Kelsey and I have lots of concerts to look forward to, including back to back Hanson concerts, and Mom and Jason head to New Zealand.

I have an appointment tomorrow with the Orthodontist for my TMJ which has been super painful for the past week, I can barely even chew! Hopefully she will be able to figure out what we can do to fix it.

Well, miss everyone, I'm out like a fat kid in dodgeball.

I got a Little!

Yay! Big Brothers Big Sisters just called and they found me a match. Her name is Jae Lynn, she's 7 years old, she's been waiting to become old enough to get a Big Sister because her older sister who is 10 has one and she gets jealous of the fun her older sister has with her Big that she wanted one of her own. She is active and into sports like basketball and baseball and playing outside. She likes to go shopping and watch TV- her sister and her mom are really girly and aren't into outside activities so she's excited to have someone to go out and do all that with. I think it's exciting too. Now they will call her and her mom and tell them about me and ask them if they think it will be a good match. If they do, then I will go to her house with my adviser to meet her and her family. If they don't, then they will look for another match for me.
Pretty cool.

Big Brothers Big Sisters

I got my acceptance letter today! My final grades for spring were 2.9 in English 102, 3.1 in Math 098, and 4.0 in Sociology. My GPA is a 3.3- only 0.2 points away from the Dean's List! (You need at least a 3.5 GPA for the quarter).

I went back home to PA for a week last month and visited with all my friends and the family, it was a very crazy hectic week but I think I managed to spend a significant amount of time with everyone. Brianna is coming out here to Seattle this weekend and Kelsey and I are so excited to show her around and have her here to visit.

I had an interview with Big Brothers Big Sisters, so now I'm just waiting to hear back if I got accepted or not, which I think I did. They are checking my references and going over my application and then they will let me know if I was accepted and if I was they will start looking for my match. I'll get a "little" between the ages of 7 and 16, a girl, who I have to spend time with 3 times a month. Hopefully I will be accepted and I'll let you all know about it!

Well there's lots of TV on tonight, Big Brother 10 started last Sunday, and the 2nd epsiode is on tonight, along with Wipeout and Japanese Game Show... Kelsey and I have already claimed our spots on the couch.

6 blisters, 3 burns, 1 cut, 0 cigarettes

To start, I smoked my last cigarette at 7:30pm May 8. I don't know how it happened... it started as a bet between me and Jason that he would buy me the new Mario Kart for the Wii if I stopped for a week, and the next thing I knew I was smoking my last one outside of Bartell on the verge of tears. Mom bought me the patch and Jason bought me the game and I haven't smoked yet. The patch really helps with the cravings... the hard thing is not going to smoke one at usual times during the day when I would, like after meals, at the bar, or in the evening when we are all watching TV. I was surprised what a good mood I was in yesterday, my first full day of no smoking. It didn't really bother me at school... it wasn't until I went out for some drinks with friends last night, and after eating a big sushi dinner that I really really wanted one. I chewed 5 packs of gum yesterday!

I also went for a jog/run around Greenlake yesterday and then out for some salad at Zeeks. I ran about a 1/2 mile and walked the other 2. It's going to take some time before I can do more, but I will keep at it. Last night we also walked to downtown from Capitol Hill instead of taking the bus or a taxi, which was another 1 1/2 miles... lots of exercise and let me tell you my body is feeling it today! Not to mention I was wearing very uncomfortable shoes last night and now have 6 new blisters on my feet to prove it. I also have 3 new burns across my fingertips on my right hand from grabbing the hot iron (not knowing it was hot), and a nice deep cut down the side of my right hand from a screw that sticks out of my closet door. All this and still didn't smoke a cigarette! That's definitely something to be proud of!

The spring quarter at school is almost done... Mid terms are over. I got a 90% on my Sociology midterm- my goal is an overall 3.5 GPA to get me on the Deans List. I'm working hard towards it and I think it will be a success- I haven't gotten anything less than a high B in English and my lowest grade in math has been an 88, so I think I'm doing pretty well. I'm thinking of taking 1 class over summer break to keep me working and rack up those credits so I can get my AA as quickly as I can. I've also been thinking of Seattle Pacific University (SPU) for my BA...

Tonight Mom and Jay are making hot dogs and cheeseburgers on the grill and Mom made Omi's favorite Potato Salad... Kelsey and I are waiting patiently to devour it! After dinner I have lots of Sociology to read. Tomorrow is Mothers Day so Kelsey and I are going to clean the house and make dinner.

Hope all is well with everyone else!

cheek piercings, sociology, and nanny in outer space?

One week into my 2nd quarter at North and already I can tell this one is gonna be hard! I have Sociology 101 at 9am everyday, an hour break, then English 102 at 11 and Math 098 at 12 except on Fridays. Already in English we needed to have 2 novels read (Bridget Jones's Diary and Fight Club) by the first 2 weeks. Bridget Jones's was due today for discussion, which I was able to finish.. and Fight Club needs to be read by this upcoming Monday and I work Tuesday-Saturday this week so I will be very busy! I got a 2.9 last quarter, which is a high B so I'm trying to aim for at least a 3.0 this quarter.

I've gotten the beginnings of a cold/fluish thing that's been going around but I haven't let it keep me from my responsibilities during the day- mornings just suck and I try to go to bed at an earlier time, shoving anti-cold medications down my throat everyday in hopes that it doesn't get worse.

I also got a new piercing, it's called an anti-eyebrow and its on my right cheek bone. Drastic, but I get a lot of comments on it. Once it's healed (2 months) I can downgrade the size of the bar and get diamonds instead of metal so it won't look as extreme. If I knew how to post pictures on here I would, but if you are interested in what it looks like you can Google it and you should be able to easily find pictures of others anti-eyebrows.

This Friday I'm going out to a bar called The Knock Knock room downtown with my new friend Carmell, so I'm looking forward to that. When I do have free time I'm mostly with Luke, so it will be nice to hang out with someone new and build a new friendship.

Hmm... I think that's about it on the update for me... 23 in 2 weeks... Uncle Kirk and Aunt Kris, it's the 19th not the 17th... ;o)

Oh, and I had a dream last night that me and Nanny went to Outer Space together and looked at the moon and the stars upclose... but we didn't wear space suits, we didn't float, and we had comfortable beds... it was like an apartment inside a space shuttle. Very weird- blaming it on Advil PM.

Where to start?!

Okay well, I guess most important is I moved back to Seattle, broke up with Robby, living with mom and the family again, and going to school. Things are great, everything is falling into place and I'm excited about what I'm doing.

This first quarter of school is almost over, another week until spring break. I'm taking English 101 and Math 097 this quarter, good grades so far... next quarter I registered to take English 102, Math 098, and Sociology 100- Introduction. Sociology is my major so after I get my AA at the community college, I can transfer to a University to get my BA and then maybe move onto my Masters? Right now I'm looking into some volunteer programs around Seattle, working with children and less fortunate families... my ultimate goal is to take a trip to South Africa with a volunteer program to help care for orphans... so I'm pretty much just working hard right now, having fun with my new friends and the family.

Kelsey and I are sharing the Scion, however she never drives it so I'm pretty much the only one who uses it besides when Mom and Jason need it to go to Ikea or wherever. I'm having fun hanging out with Kelsey, going to concerts and watching our shows like we used to. Nice to be around the Beagles again- stinky, but nice.

I miss my friends in Pennsylvania but I'm starting to get really settled and into a routine out here on the West Coast so there's no doubts, regrets, or complaints so far! Hoping to go back and visit PA sometime this summer, but I want to go to the 3 day Dave Matthews Band concerts at the Gorge here in Washington, and that's going to be close to a $500 per person trip so hello and goodbye to my tax return!

I'll try to remember to update more, but there's really nothing interesting to write about.

Love and miss everyone!

5 months later...

I never update anymore!

Actually, I'm not really on the computer that much...
Robby and I both got new jobs- he is working at Hartman Ford or Toyota or whatever... he washes cars and is making pretty good money and seems to like going to work much more now then he did when he was cooking.
I am back to waitressing, my job for EZPass through the temp agency was really stressful and I hated what I was doing so I thought it was time for a change. I think waitressing will be a good change for me and allow me to make more money.

The cruise to New England was so much fun and Robby and I miss everyone already! We came back and were sitting in the living room and looked at each other and said, 'Man, we could be eating lobster and steak and ice cream...' instead our fridge is empty!

Zeppelin was very excited to see us when we got back... he is now just starting to let us leave the room by ourselves without him at our heels. He's still spoiled rotten.

I wish I had a digital camera like all of you so I can upload pictures of our apartment and Zeppelin so you all can see!

Don't worry, I'm still alive!

I have been VERY busy lately!

Robby and I FINALLY got our own apartment... it's in Marysville which isn't exactly close, but only about a 10 minute drive on the highway. The only thing that's going to be a pain is he is the only one with a car. Anyway, it's pretty spacious- we have a nice size kitchen, big enough for a table with lots of cabinets... we have a "dining room" area, but I think we are going to expand our living room into it... we have a living room, of course, with a pretty out-cove with windows all around... theres a large master bedroom and a nice spare bedroom... and we also have a big attic that has been carpeted- Robby is very excited about the attic- I believe he thinks it is going to be his "guy room" for when his buddies come over. The only thing that kinda sucks is that the landlords live right below us, but they are super nice- just taking a little bit long to paint and replace the tile in the kitchen and the bathroom.

I'm thinking that I need to go have my eyes checked. I don't think that my 20/20 vision is still 20/20. Words that are far away are very blurry to me and I can hardly read them- like street signs on the highway. Nanny says she wouldn't be surprised since everyone in the family has bad eyes- but I thought I got away with that one- I think it's because I sit in front of a computer for 9 hours a day at work. So, I'm going to see if my JFC health benefits include eye care, I can't remember if I decided to take it or not.

Zeppelin is going to get his man hood lazered off on the 12th. He doesn't know it's coming- but we are very glad it's soon! He lost his bottom teeth a few days ago and they are already growing in huge.. so he's been chewing on everything! He is going to turn out to be a really good dog though I think... last night he laid all cuddled up with me under the covers with his head on the pillow and kept me warm. He is very affectionate... but be careful if he gets outside without a leash if Robby isn't around! Robby can let him out without a leash no problem but with anyone else, he takes off on a rampage running as fast as he can with his ears glued down to his head and a huge smile on his face. On Saturday he got out when I was moving things and you should have seen it- me, Robbys mom, and his 4 year old nephew Eric all out there chasing this dog around. He kept running in the street and I was so afraid he was going to get hit by a car! I went out in the street and stopped traffic and chased him back up into safety... After about 15-20 minutes I caught him and got him back inside. He took a nice looooong nap after that.

Oh! Great news! HANSONS COMING!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm taking a bus to Philly on Wed, Feb 28 to meet up with my friends Alison and Emily- and then on Thursday we have tickets to see them in Sayerville, NJ... I swore I would never see them there ever again because the last time they were there the fans and the venue were horrible... but never the less, I'm going, duh... I'm then spending Friday in Philadelphia with the girls and then we are coming back up here to my place on Saturday... then Sunday we go see them again in Allentown. Lauren isn't going because she didn't have money for tickets- but HOPEFULLY she will get her hands on them before they are sold out, if they aren't already. I just wish my sister was here to go with me!

The Aftermath

Christmas was wonderful, I think one of the best Christmas's in awhile! I got lots of cool presents including a blue Ipod Nano, 2 DVDS, 2 CDs, new shoes, new clothes, money, stuffed animals, and lots of other exciting things! I won a total of $58 off of holiday lottery tickets, and Robby brought home a black lab puppy that was running along side of the highway! We named him Zeppelin and he is sooo cute, so far no one has claimed him as lost so he's ours for the time being! I'll try to post pictures soon.

Our trip to Pittsburgh was a great success- Robby had a lot of fun and really liked Mary and Hugo and the Dusquene Club. We always love visiting there and hopefully will be able to go back soon, especially since we had no car trouble on the trip!

The day we got back however, things took a turn for the worst. I got the flu! I was sick in bed for Wednesday after we got home, all of yesterday and half of today. My stomach is better and I'm able to keep down food but it has now turned into a bad cold which the DR says will last about 10 days. I was told I was very contagious so I couldn't return to work until Tuesday and Nanny ran rapid around here with Clorox wipes cleaning everything, who could blame her.

Well I'm headed back to the couch with my tissues and blanket, hope everyone had a good holiday and happy new year 2007!

Fa la la la la... la la la la!

**i never posted this, i only saved it as a draft so pretend it was posted before christmas, haha**

MY MOMMYS COMING! Gotta get one more thing for Nanny, something for Mary and Hugo, and the secret santa gift for the party. I should get Don (Robbys step dad) something too since I got his mom the microwave. It was gonna be a joint gift for the 2 of them but I doubt Don has any real interest in getting a microwave. Ah well.

Getting a cold sore, it sucks.

Too excited to see my family that I can't think of anything to say!

If I don't update before Christmas, MERRY CHRISTMAS! I actually didn't eat very much, but it was really nice. His family seems to really like me and I'm very comfortable around all of them. It was SUPER weird not having T-Day with my family though, first year ever. Christmas will be even weirder, since I'm sleeping at Robbys on Christmas Eve because he spent it with my family last year. We will be at the finally agreed upon Christmas Eve party at Aunt Kris's though.

Vacation:
I entered a drawing at the Ren Faire to win a car, and ended up having my name picked to win an all expenses paid vacation to my choice of Las Vegas, Reno, or Orlando. Robby and I went to the meeting and sat through an hour presentation for time shares before we were handed our vouchers. Very cool, we chose Vegas. :o) Also, all the people who showed up for the presentation are entered in the drawing for the car. That will be chosen the first or second week of January and whomever wins has the choice between the Subaru or $50,000. Hmmm... hard choice? NOT. SHOW ME THE MONEY!!!!

Work:
Not much to say... work is work and work sucks, but my job isn't too bad. Lately it's been really boring because I have this HUMUNGO list of accounts that I need to send to collections, which is VERY repetitive and doesn't take any brain power at all. Today I snuck my headphones in and played my music quietly because I couldn't keep my eyes open anymore. We are having a pot luck lunch on Dec. 22 and I signed up to bring cucumber sandwiches... of course... family favorite for pot lucks.

Christmas:
Robbys done, Kelseys done, Robbys parents are done, Moms done. I need to get Nanny, Kassidy, Aunt Kris, Lauren, Jason, and my Weiler secret santa. Luckily I get paid every week so I can kinda spread it all out with different pay checks before the big day!

In other news:
Pam called me from the hospital (long story, not going into it) just to tell me that the East Mall is having auditions for Survivor, Big Brother, and Amazing Race in the beginning of January. You can bet I'll be there. All she kept saying is sign you and your mom up I know you would win.

There was a lady from Tacoma, Washington who claimed that her son and daughter were mentally retarded and couldn't read, write, bathe on their own, or drive a car. Some one tipped off the Feds and the son was in traffic court a week later fighting a parking ticket!! She made over $200,000 off her kids pretend metal illnesses. "Hey kids, I have an idea! How about you pretend to be retarded for your whole lives so we can make lots of money!" If you ask me, she's the one who's retarded.

Christmas Wish List

At my mothers request:

Movies:
"Friends" Complete Series (Seasons 1-10 box set)
"The Break Up"
"Accepted"
"Lords of Dogtown"
"The Lakehouse"
"Almost Famous"

Books:
Anything by J.D. Same as always...

Aunt Claire and Becky came from NY... I, of course, was at Robby's for the weekend. He was at work most the time... he works from 3-10/11 usually. So his sister picked me up from work on Friday and I went over to his house for his...I guess soon to me my... nephews 1st birthday. It was kinda weird being at his house with all his family and him not there, but it was fun. His family really likes me... especially his grandfather. He's funny, reminds me of Papa sometimes. But when he left he gave me a hug and a kiss and told me he loved me, ha. Don's (Robbys step dad) parents were there... his mom loves the quilt I made Robbys mom and wants me to go over to his house to show her how to make one. Don's sister and her little girl was there too. Turns out her little girl is friends with Kassidy! What a small world.

On Saturday I spent most of the day laying around watching TV and movies while Robby was at work. Pretty much a boring, relaxing weekend.

Tonight I picked up Erin and we went to Giant so I could get some groceries and then to Ross's where I got a new outfit for work. And guess what? I got the same freakin shirt that Nanny bought like 2 weeks ago. How funny... my 65 grandma and I have the same taste in clothes.

Well gotta go watch Celebrity Paranormal Project on VH1... catch ya'll later!

I really have nothing to say.

I got my purse! Go to work on the weekdays and hang out on the weekends with Robby.

This weekend we went shopping and went to see Saw 3. That was the most disgusting movie I have ever seen in my life and I do not recommend it at all. I liked the first 2 but this one was the most horrible thing... the people that came up with that version of the movie have some serious head problems.

Well I have nothing else to say. I left Robby with the one responsibility of putting a stamp on my mom's letter and sticking it in a mail box. He bought three 2 cent stamps and when none of them stuck he taped them and mailed the letter at the box at Getty. None the less we got it back today with a note saying you can't tape stamps and by the way you need more then 2 cents! DUH! So I took over and put it in a new envelope with a new stamp and mailed it away. Hopefully you get it soon Mommy, sorry for the mix up!

I'm still waiting for my so awesome bag! I can't wait to show it off, everyone has been asking where it is because I've already told everyone about it!

Work is going really well. I like what I do but I'm with ya Mom, sometimes my computer is so slow I just want to bash my head through the cubicle... or lay it down and take a quick nap! I'm familiar with the systems now so I don't need anyone holding my hand through all the paper work I get anymore, and I've made friends! Charlene (who is well over 45 and loves to tell us about how she used to be a biker chick in the 70s with her huge bell bottom pants) and Angie, who reminds me soooo much of Margo from CAL. Angie picks me up every morning and takes me home on the days Robby doesn't come get me.

He has a construction job right now with this guy Kurt. He doesn't like it very much because he has to get up very early in the morning and Kurt doesn't let him take cigarette or lunch breaks! He works from about 7-4 without any breaks. He is off tomorrow and Your Place is hiring full time kitchen staff so I think he's going to go in there and see about getting a job.

Boscovs had a sale this week so I went and got myself 3 nice slacks and a sweater and a really cool shirt for work. I love being able to buy things with my own hard earned money! I made a calander on my computer at work with what bills need paid and when. This weekend I'm going to see about my cell phone. I think I'm going to try to get a pre-paid phone so I can cut out one more bill for right now. After I'm all caught up on that, which should probably take me about 2 months I'm hoping, I'm going to see about maybe taking a class or 2 at HACC. I'd like to get my degree in Early Childhood Education but I think I need to take it slow and not put too much on my plate so that I can really do well this time, and I want to keep working full time also.

Went to the Ren Faire on Sunday with Erin and the gang. It was so much fun to get out and do something with my friends, and sorry to say, but without the boy, haha. It was very windy at first and then it just got cold, but we still had a good time.

Mom, got your Christmas gift already! I saw it and had to get it for you, so I did. I can't believe it's November 1st tomorrow! The holidays are right around the corner... I don't know how it's going to be this year with everything that's been going on. For once in my life I'm not really excited for Christmas, just excited to see the Seattleites! Kelsey, Hanson concerts coming soon? We will have to figure out this across the country concert business when it comes!

I don't really talk to anyone in the east coast family except Nanny and Aunt Kris. I get up every morning and go to work and sometimes hang out with Robby until about 9 or 10 and then I'm in bed. Can you believe it? I'm usually ready for bed around 10pm! Must be getting old!

Well I've written a book so I think I'm off, it's almost bed time!

(Reminder for myself that The OC starts on Thursday... and while I'm on the subject, Mom and Kelsey did you watch the reunion of Flavor of Love? New York is going to have her own show! What is this world coming to!??! You know I'll be watching it though hahaha...)

Nice weekend

2 weeks of work down! Doing pretty good- got my first pay check and only kept about $40 for myself. Paid Mom half what I owe her and Nanny all of what I owed her. Mom- you should get the check in the mail soon if you haven't already, and the other half will be in the mail on Thursday when I get paid again. My check was about $400 but they took out almost half for taxes, including that dumb occupational tax... but since I only have to pay it once my checks should be pretty decent from here on out. My cell phone is turned off right now but should be back on in about 2 weeks.

Found a solution to one of my TV dilemmas... abc.com has Lost episodes that you can watch for free, so I don't have to worry about finding some how to tape it while I'm watching One Tree Hill. The internet is so wonderful and luxurious. I don't know how people survived without it! The OC doesn't start till November 7, but I'll have to figure out some way to sort that out too... ah well. I'll handle it when it comes.

Nanny is at the beach until Wednesday, I've been here taking care of Lily. She cries all the time, she's such a spoiled kitty! I also have the Cruiser so I don't have to get rides from Aunt Mare to and from work... which is nice.

Spent the weekend with Robby... on Friday night we watched scary movies since it was Friday the 13th... Saturday we hung out at his house most of the day and then we came back here to Nannys and made ham steak with corn and baked potatoes for dinner, yummy! Then we went and hung out with Lauren for a little bit before we came home to go to bed. Today was super boring, I came home from his house around 2 and he's gonna go hang out with Justin today and might stop by here later on. Next weeked on Friday we are going to see The Departed with Lauren, she already saw it but said it was really good. I think we might also carve some pumpkins with his nephew, which we were going to do this weekend but decided to wait. So that should be fun.

Anyways, I'm gonna go be a couch potato now... its a nice day out so I have the windows open with a nice breeze flowing through and I'm sure there is a good movie on! Talk to you all later!

The Surreal Life

All I can say is wow... how did this ever happen? Nanny was definitely surprised and I was so happy when Saturday finally came and I didn't have to keep trying to keep it a secret. Believe me, it's very hard with her! See Nanny, you had your party and it was wonderful- I'm glad you know now that we want you to be happy and I'm sorry you were so upset and stressed out the week of your birthday because you didn't think anyone was going to throw you a party but boy did you luck out! :o)

Uncle Kirk and Ripken- I didn't get to say goodbye to you before you left, miss you already! I was very happy to be able to spend time with you and visit with you and I can't wait to see you again, hopefully next time Aunt Kristen will be able to join us!

Kelsey you are gorgeous and I miss you soooo much already, come back!!! Like Robby said, don't try too hard to make yourself look pretty, you are a natural beauty. :o) I love you so much little sister!

Mom, I'm glad that I got to see you and spend time with you and have a good weekend with you, I love you very much- I can't wait for you to make my purse I will use it everyday and everyone will be jealous!

I had my first day of work today- 2 paper cuts from stuffing envelopes for over an hour, but I think once I get into the groove of things I will really like it there. There was a lot of information to learn and I think Carol (my trainer/boss I think) could tell I was a little overwhelmed at one part of the day, she smiled at me and said "don't worry we will go over this 5,000 times". I don't have my desk yet, but the lady who is in my cubical is leaving on Wednesday so I will move into my "office" then. I'm just happy to finally have a job and be able to start getting back to life. Thanks to everyone who has been helping me (NANNY!), I really appreciate everyone's help- the money, the rides, the places to sleep... it's been a big help.

I'm stressing about the 4th- Lost starts and I don't have any way to record One Tree Hill!! Man, the problems of a 21 year old!

Well, I must get to bed, after all, I'm a working girl now who needs to get up at 7am- I never was really good at that.

So far in TV land...

I missed the first 2 episodes of Amazing Race!! That sucks...

The season premiere of One Tree Hill made me cry before the theme song even started- great episode! I already knew what was going to happen because Kelsey told me some spoilers, but still a tear-jerker.

The season premiere of Grey's Anatomy was a tear-jerker as well, but they tried to make it "too" sad, so I didn't let myself get choked up.

I'm going to miss Six Degrees tonight because I'm riding to the airport with Nanny and Aunt Kris to pick up Uncle Kirk and Ripken... the first episode of that didn't really get me too excited so I'm not too upset about missing it. I'm sure I'll be able to catch up later.

Can't wait for Lost to start, I hate seeing the commercials for it because it gets me too excited!

Updateness

Not a lot going on over here on the East Coast right now... I just have to work on my resume this weekend.

Robby filled out an application at the Hershey Factory and yesterday he went downtown and filled out some applications at some resturaunts which he said seemed kinda promising. So we'll see.

Season Premiers!

Just for my own records:

Mondays- 9pm House of Carters
Wednesdays- 9pm One Tree Hill
9pm Lost
Thursdays- 8pm Survivor
9pm Grey's Anatomy
9pm The OC (Nov. 2)
10pm Six Degrees
Sundays- 830pm Amazing Race

So... not too happy with the line up. He doesn't understand why my family loves TV so much, haha. I feel like I'm missing a show... isn't that horrible. Man, this really is sad! I know what I'm missing... Everwood. Damn "CW" took it off the air to let 7th Heaven have their 298230959th season. I will NOT be watching that show this year. It's been hectic so far... when we got here we went right to Robbys and said hi to his family and everything. He wanted to go over to hang out with his friends and watch the Steelers game, so I went to see the cousins while Lauren was at the store. After she got home I went up to see her and we jumped around all excited that we were finally reunited! We then went over to see Katie and after that went down the street to see Danielle and the baby. He is ADORABLE. Biggest bald head I've ever seen... but such a happy child!! He was laughing and smiling just about the whole time! Then I met up with the crew and we all went to Perkins and ate and talked, catching up on everything. Just like old times.

I spent the night at Laurens last night because it was too late to come back to Nannys, and then this morning I went over and helped Robby unpack some of our stuff... we didn't get very far.

Aunt Kris told me Nanny was at work today so I ended up going over to her house and waiting for Kassidy to get home... then after she did we colored and played Mall Madness. Nanny came over at dinner time and announced that she didn't have to work today, so I could have been here the whole time! I had fun with Kassidy though and I know she did too.

I'm at Nannys right now, probably going over to Robbys later for the night... talk to you all later!

Last update from the west

Last update while in Seattle...

The apartment is all packed up in the back of the UHaul and ready to hit the road! The landlord came over today.... for about 5 minutes... she said everything looked good, even though she didn't really look at anything... and said it smelled like cigarettes but if we washed the walls with vinager it should be fine. Now it just reaks of vinager. Whatever.

We were going to leave tonight, but we thought it would be better to try and get a good nights sleep tonight and start fresh in the morning. I'm so anxious to get going!

Well, I guess I'll see everyone when I get there... and my Texas relatives I'll see in September!

Cabin Fever

Wow, 2 updates in one day!!!

We are at the campsite right now, they have wireless internet access so Miss Kelsey brought her laptop along... how could we survive without it?! It came in very handy when we were playing the movie game while the hot dogs were cooking. It's a fun game... someone names a movie title and the next person either has to name an actor in that movie, or a second movie that has someone in it who was in the movie named, or the same words in the title... that's a little complicated....

Example:
The Butterfly Effect

So then, the next person can say... Ashton Kutcher.

So then the next person can name a movie he was in.... Dude, Where's My Car.

So the next person can say.... Riding in Cars with Boys (Both titles have the word car in it.)

Anyway, it's fun once you get the hang out it, but we kept saying "Oh, what's the name of that movie" or "Ah, what else was that person in"... so then out came the laptop on imdb.com here we come.

After the game we ate hotdogs, baked beans, and potato salad. After dinner we played monopoly (Mom thought she had me with all those houses on her places but you can't beat a girl who has 3 houses on Boardwalk and Park Place). Now we are all in our beds... uncomfortably and ghetto since Mom forgot the blankets. Oh, and there's no fire pit. We can only make a fire in the grill provided, so no sitting around the campfire singing songs and telling stories... but we did that anyway. :o) Nothing can beat the camping trip with Patty and Pam almost killing me and Lauren with carbon dioxide poisoning though.

I miss my Papa Ed today. Mom and I were laughing and talking earlier about when he came camping with us in the camper and the table fell on his head. And then the 3 of us sat in the kitchen listening to all his stories from when he was growing up. I loved that trip, even though we skipped out early because the camp site really sucked and there wasn't really anything to do.

Nanny, I still plan on staying with you.. I can't wait to meet Lily! I miss Tulsa so much I need an animal to cuddle with. I will probably spend a few nights at Laurens house, and I think Robby is going to ask his mom if we can keep the furniture in his brothers old bedroom at her house so we don't have to pay for a storage unit. We are leaving Thursday, so hopefully we will be back by Monday at the latest.

Aunt Kris.... you need to post something in your blog. It's boring. Have a safe flight out to Seattle and I'll see you for.... a day.... while you're here.

Lots of excitement

Well, the week has been loooong. Getting ready to leave hopefully on Thursday around noon or 1. We pick up the UHaul on Wednesday, and Tuesday is our last day at Zeeks Pizza. I'm ready to get home and anxious to find a new apartment.

Monday was 4 years since Dad went, sad day- plus I had to work from 5 to close at Zeeks and I was the only one there besides my manager so the day pretty much sucked from beginning to end.

We're getting ready to go camping right now, I'm excited to spend the weekend with my mom and Kelsey... I'm definitely going to miss them a lot.

Can't wait for the tour dates to be released for the Hanson tour this fall/winter. Maybe they will set a date in Seattle and Lauren and I can come out and visit and take Kelsey to her first Hanson concert.

Robby is definitely ready to go... he misses his mom and all his friends a lot. The first couple weeks we are home I doubt we will even see each other- I'll probably be attached to Lauren when she's not at work and I know he will want to be with his friends a lot, catching up.

As for everyone in PA... Nanny, Aunt Kris... I'm excited to see you!!

Oh, and as far as BB7- I hate Boogie and Erica... I really don't know how I felt this season, I wasn't really cheering for anyone... I love James but I hated his game play this season. I really don't care who wins, but I think besides Aunt Kris, I'll be the only one watching the Season Finale. Oh, and I plan on visiting cbs.com to apply to be on the show next season. I would totally win. :o)

Just an update out of boredom

Just wanted to say that I'm excited I have the next 2 days off of work and I plan on hanging out with Kelsey on Wednesday as much as possible... but I'm sure she will want to be on her computer up in her room "myspacing" and "hansoning" away for hours.... well, at least I can do that with her. I LOVE that she loves Hanson now... took me YEARS to get her into them and she finally has joined the fanson group. YIPPEE!!! I sure am going to miss her tons when I move back to PA... but the tour will be soon and hopefully she will be able to come out to Pennsylvania and finally go to a concert with me.

I reserved the UHaul yesterday... ready for pick up on September 13. Now, to get a job, find an apartment, and figure out how to get a car. Lots to do ahead. Job will be easy. Apartment shouldn't take too long, but I don't know about the car. Robby's mom just bought a new truck so hopefully she will give her old car to Rob and he will be able to drive me around like I did when I had a car.

Well, I'm very tired and have a sore throat so I think I'm gonna get comfy and see what's on the TV.

See ya'll on the flip side.

Jumping on the bandwagon

Well, since it seems like every other member of my family has started their blog on blogger.com, I might as well join 'em!

Life in Seattle with the fiance has been... interesting. I've had fun, but ready to get back to good ol' boring PA. I miss my Lauren and all my crazy cousins... but I sure am going to miss my mommy and my little sister... who really isn't so little anymore.

We really haven't been doing much out here... working a lot, but I love my job at Zeeks.... it's so much fun, sooo easy, and the people are very friendly... well, the employees are, but the customers out here in Greenlake Seattle are pretty uptight. I have been doing a lot to make sure that I will be okay in PA, I've e-mailed some places about jobs... Hall Manor (which isn't exactly the safest place) told me that I was a very fast typist and they enjoyed having me there, so if I send a cover letter and a resume they might have a postition for me. Oh, by the way, Mom, can you help me make a cover letter and a resume? :o)

My bestest friend comes home on Tuesday, KELSEY!!! And I have off. So I plan on going to the airport with the fam to pick her up, and watching Big Brother with her and mom that night.
